Scottie Club UK is pleased to announce the the inaugural Pikush Media Scholarship is awarded to student Olive and Members John & Ursula.
Scottie Academy trainer Kathleen Tepperies reviewed the results of six students who attended the Cameo first course and the remaining five who made it through to the Co-Star second course, before selecting Olive.
“Several Scotties on the course showed promise and it was not easy, but with the benefit of video and keeping track we were able to select one dog who will now go through to the final course, a gruelling 10-week Star course, which is intended to give the dogs the opportunity to be equipped for the limelight, if the owner so wishes,” explained Kathleen.
Other dogs who completed Co-Star are also invited to carry on to the final Star course as they too showed promise – and may be in for red carpet treatment in the future!
The course will run from 11 October until 13 December 2025.
The Pikush Media Scholarship is given annually by the Matlock family in recognition and memory of Pikush, a Scottie who achieved considerable media work in his lifetime, including a part in a major biopic movie coming out soon.
Pikush passed in 2024 and on the first anniversary, as it is intended in future years, the family have agreed to support the award of the Pikush Media Scholarship to help the next generation of promising media-type Scotties. The aim of Scottie Academy is to use media as a means to further awareness about this special dog breed and ensure that more healthcare investment is channelled into the welfare of Scotties. Pikush was only 10 years when he crossed the rainbow bridge.

Pikush WOOFS Congratulations from Rainbow Bridge 🌈.
Thanks Max.
As for the award, it was very close between three Scotties. And we also had some sad news during the academic year to manage. Our Scotties do so much to impress us. They are such amazing characters x
