As the year nears its end, we reflect on the first full year of Scottie Club UK, since its rebrand in November 2024 from London Scottie Club.
2025 was a very special year, blessed with many new projects and nice challenges to have.
Scottie.Academy
We launched Scottie.Academy in January 2025. The aim? To show that Scotties can learn new tricks and that some of them would be destined for stardom. It is by giving Scotties the limelight that we hope more attention and resources will be directed towards the improved understanding and well-being of the Scottish Terrier breed.
In December, we opened stage doors for the 2026 Academic Year, and the course begins on 14 March 2026. Reserve your spaces now!
We are pleased to report our first signings have already landed!
Here’s a recap of what Scottie.Academy can do for your Scottie!
Regional Meeting Marshals
In the spring, we opened up the UK-wide club to regional meeting marshals. This is where members of Scottie Club UK can apply to run events locally to where they live. They remain welcome to come to the London-based quarterly events, but we now cater for regional events that are more convenient for members to reach. We really want more owners of Scotties to meet up and share their love and joy for the breed.
Karen Randall now represents Essex county while Lois Almond is in charge in Somerset. We are also in talks with others. The advantages are that you get events publicised with Scottie Club UK, and we provide support, but you still plan and run your events.
A further benefit of becoming a regional Meeting Marshal is that you have a voice on the Scottie Club Committee, the body which decides on the direction and initiatives of your club. To find out more click here.
ScottieVision
We had some fun in August when we asked band Aroo to compose two versions of a song to become our club anthem. Nothing to do with Ibiza it resembled more the music of Eurovision. Members spent the last weekend in August voting on their favourite song.
The event has inspired us to consider a larger contest to be held in May 2026, to dwarf another event that normally takes place and United Kingdom famously gets nil points!
Hear the song that won here!
And finally
There is one more event for this year, before we usher in 2026. The Holiday season Scottie Walkabout, organised this time by Meeting Marshal John Watkins. The event takes place in London at 1pm on Sunday 28 December. Details via our whatsapp groups as normal. Don’t miss it!
On Behalf of the Committee:
Thanks for your support in 2025. Wishing you very happy holidays with Scotties for joy and looking forward to all of your company in 2026.
